    Light - subtle sound
Ok let me say first that i deleted first part of my review because wasnt any point mencion things like from the burning process any way these speakers do sound nice.I use them now with my small denon amp-dac which comes set with the denon ceol carino speakers and i must say it was a slightly impruvement over the sony 6.1 old receiver i have for movies because this one shows another perception of the quality of output of speakers.Sound. I mainly listen to club edm electronica so what i needed was a per of speakers that have some bass extention and deep sound. The receiver in short has that and in combination with the speakers a litle bit more. The music sound is some quite in depth - light and subtle except of the bass extention down low ..They would do great computer speakers but i wouldnt recomend them for movies because the vocals sound from a distance and not apfront.Does no get fatigue after listening several hours...Also they must be a bit far from the wall because of the bass port. The movies "sound cinematic and explosions good" but lack in dialog, not so much in music though and this because i can understand what the singers sing, but not that much.PSThey look nice and are not so emerge sounding good for calm listening

Wow, talk about good things in small packages. After a years of playing around with horns, I bought these for FP (Front Presence) speakers. They have a great bass line and the sweetness and detail through the mid and high frequencies is awesome. This comes at a price, they are far less efficient than my Acoustech PL-89 II's ( 98 Db 1 watt/1 meter v. 87 Db 1 watt/1 meter for the JBL) and the PL-28 center doesn't match up as well, so I'm running them in stereo (2.1) configuration, wow, good stuff. Yes, they have been promoted to FL and FR main channels. They have been promoted to main front channels. It's surprising how much these little guys really output. I'm using a. KSW-311 subwoofer, but these little guy have a legit bass output, they stay tight until the 80 Hz rollover (THX guidelines) . I'm waiting for my JBL Arena 125 C center channel to get back to 3.1, with some good sound.

I guess the sound still matters at JBL. JBL has given me back my music and movies. I also received a pair of 4312's for the holiday, a totally separate review,

L Arena 125 C center channel. The Acoustech while very smooth in the midrange just don't compare, amazing considering the price difference. I had to get the Arena 125 C. My subwoofer is a Klipsch KSW-311, it'll sound great with everything. These little guys amazed me with both their clarity in mid to high frequencies and really tight bass down to an 80 Hz (for THX) roll off to the subwoofer. For added dynamics I run everything in DTS and really, they are very good. Originally I had sold my RF/RC-62's because of pronounced harshness in the 2 - 3 KHz range.

I guess while some companies were getting absorbed into Fox corporate culture, JBL maintained really good quality and design.

I would recommend them in a heartbeat, but you really need 90 - 100 watts/Channel ( 20Hz - 20KHz), but they are amazing little guys. Efficiency, while low compared to some of my other speakers, (Klipsch Chorus II's, RF/RC-62 and the Acoustech PL-89 II's, they sound great and reach 100 Db peaks, with no noticeable distortion. In 2.1 they are great, in 3.1....

I hadn't listened to these speakers in person prior to purchasing them and there aren't alot of reviews because they are pretty new. In addition to this, I live Brisbane, Australia and they aren't available here in our local retailers.

My only reference point was my previous speakers which are JBL N28 8" bookshelf speakers which acted as my fronts accompanied with N24 surrounds, AAD center and a Pioneer 10" sub running through Kenwood 5.1 receiver.
Now this previous set up is 13 years old and to put it into perspective, my Kenwood receiver didn't even have HDMI, thats how old the set up was. Why did I have this set up for so long you ask? Cause it was awesome! You felt bass in your chest at high euphoric volume and it always pleased me any other time. But 13 years on, I was ready for change.

Other than that, I've listened to my friends systems which range from Bang & Olufsen, Bowers & Wilkins, Bose and Krix. And without a shadow of a doubt, those are great brands, but each brand have their unique pros and cons like any speaker. I say this because, I don't believe there is a perfect speaker, but I do believe in the evolution, to creating the perfect speaker.

So that being said, I took a leap of faith and trusted in JBL. And wow they didn't dissapoint. They are detailed in a way that, you hear all the instruments and elements in a scrumptious balanced delivery. It's hard describe, it's like they've managed to seperate all the aspects of what your listening to and redeliver the sound as if it's coming from multiple speakers that are each tuned specifically for a particular aspect of the sound being heard.

To conclude, they don't feel bright, they don't feel overwhelming neither underwhelming. There exciting when they need to be, while still being balanced, warm and harmonious and for the price, in my opinion, they deserve 5 stars.

I don't consider myself as a stuck up high expectations audiophile, but mearly a man that enjoys the feelings that these speakers give you.

Note: I listen to metal, rap, rnb, techno, dubstep, movie soundtracks mainly by Hans Zimmer, through 2.1 or 7.1 stereo mode and bluray movies like Interstellar, Inception, The Zero Theorem, Edge of Tomorrow, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings etc through Sci Fi mode on the receiver.

      Specs of my new system;

      Yamaha RX-V577 7.2 receiver.

      Fronts: JBL Arena 130
Center: Infinity Primus PC351 (what a beast)
      Side Surround: JBL Loft 40
      Back Surround: JBL ES10
      10" Pioneer sub

These work great as front height speakers for me. Great fill sound at an incredible price (mine were $269, i’ve seen them as low as $200). I own speakers that sound “better” but the price difference was x4.. Stupid good value for certain uses.

Here’s the thing. They’re nice speakers. I got mine at a local electronics dealer for $136 a pair. Paying $249 or higher you NEED to be aware of an important fact: the woofers are not 7”, they’re more like 5.5”, and I’m being generous here by including the foam/rubber speaker surround. The 7” number is JBL basically lying to consumers. IF you measure from edge to edge, which is the metal mounting ring, then you get 7”. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never heard of a mounting flange generating sound. Neither does the rubber surround. ONLY the cone produces sound, and that measures between 5 and 5.5”. Oh, you say, they all measure that way. Nope. I own the floor standing and bookshelf models of the Andrew Jones designed Pioneef speakers, and THEY MEASURE ONLY THE CONE. So Pioneer is being honest and JBL is misleading (lying) you. So I give it three stars and I’m being generous. You’ve been warned.
